Product Care Guide
Each Belola piece may require different care depending on its finish and intended use. The following guidelines provide general recommendations. For product-specific cleaning instructions and information about fresh flower or water use, always refer to the individual product page.
Everyday Care
- Intended for indoor use unless otherwise noted.
- Place on a stable, level, and dry surface.
- Handle carefully and avoid dropping, knocking, or dragging the vase.
- Keep away from direct heat, open flames, and sudden temperature changes.
- Wipe away moisture and spills promptly, especially around the base and on sensitive surfaces.
Cleaning by Finish
Matte or Textured
Finishes Gently remove dust with a clean, soft-bristle brush or a soft, lint-free cloth. If damp cleaning is permitted for the specific product, use a lightly dampened cloth and dry the surface immediately. Avoid scrubbing, excessive rubbing, or applying pressure that may alter the finish or texture.
Glazed Finishes
Gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
For all ceramic finishes:
Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, bleach, and harsh chemicals.
- Do not place ceramic vases in the dishwasher.
- Do not soak or fully submerge the vase.
- Allow the piece to dry completely after cleaning.
Natural Characteristics of Ceramic
Subtle variations in color, glaze, texture, shape, and finish may occur as part of the ceramic production process. Minor glaze variation, speckling, and surface irregularities are natural characteristics of the material and are not considered manufacturing defects.
Everyday Care
- Belola planters are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use unless otherwise noted.
- Place the planter on a stable, level surface and handle it carefully to avoid impact, cracking, or other damage.
- Lift rather than drag the planter whenever possible to help protect both the planter and the surface beneath it.
- Periodically check the drainage opening and base for debris, trapped water, or retained moisture.
Drainage & Water
- Belola planters include a drainage hole with a removable rubber plug.
- The removable plug helps manage drainage but may not provide a completely watertight seal.
- Keep the drainage opening clear whenever excess water may collect. Remove the rubber plug as needed to allow water to drain freely.
- Do not allow standing or trapped water to remain inside or underneath the planter for extended periods.
- After heavy watering or rainfall, make sure excess water can drain freely.
- When used indoors, use an appropriate saucer or protective surface as needed to help protect floors, furniture, and other sensitive surfaces from moisture and drainage.
Outdoor & Winter Care
Belola planters are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. To help preserve their appearance and condition over time, we recommend protecting them during extreme weather conditions.
- In areas where freezing conditions occur, we recommend moving the planter to a dry, sheltered area before temperatures fall below freezing, including overnight.
- Do not allow standing water, trapped moisture, or saturated soil to freeze inside the planter. Freeze-thaw conditions may cause cracking or other damage.
- During severe weather, including heavy rain, snow, or hail, move the planter to a protected location when practical.
- Prolonged outdoor exposure may naturally result in fading, discoloration, weathering, patina, or other cosmetic changes over time.

Natural Characteristics & Weathering
Subtle variations in color, glaze, texture, finish, pattern, shape, and surface characteristics may occur as part of the manufacturing process. These natural variations are not considered manufacturing defects. With normal use, especially outdoors, planters may also develop gradual fading, discoloration, weathering, patina, or other cosmetic changes over time. These changes may vary depending on placement, climate, sunlight, moisture, and other environmental conditions and are generally considered normal cosmetic changes over time rather than manufacturing defects.
